When using Ascend Academic ePrescribe, you can pull reports from your state's Prescription Drug Monitoring Program (PDMP). To enable PDMP
To enable PDMP, you'll need to contact Ascend Academic Support with the following:
-
A list of locations that need to be connected to PDMP
Note: The support agent needs the location names because they need to retrieve its' clinic ID.
-
A contact person's full name and email address
Tip: If your organization has multiple locations, the contact person might be someone at a central office.
With the provided information, the support agent will create a DoseSpot ticket with a note that you want PDMP. Once a DoseSpot agent receives the email, they'll send an email to the contact person. The contact person will complete the registration process to Appriss, the company that manages the PDMP integration, with the DoseSpot agent.
Note: Some states might require a fee to register for access to the PDMP.
After the registrtion is complete, you need to contact the Ascend agent again, so that they can speficy the applicable role in the ePrescribe administration console.
To view a patient's PDMP data
After the PDMP setup is complete, the patient's Narx scores display in Ascend Academic when you navigate to their Electronic Prescriptions page.
Note: The Narx scores only display if the require for data from PDMP is successful.
The Narx scores help gauge the patient's potential substance risks. Also, if a full report is available, you can clicktap View Report to view the report.
