Several new feature enhancements are included in the product update released in mid March 2019. The major enhancements in this release include updates to the new Evaluations module, a new Assigned Patients widget, the addition of a DEA number to all printed prescriptions, improvements to Advanced Patient Search functionality, and the addition of a new Inactivity Timeout option at the user account level.
Improvements to Evaluations functionality
The Evaluations module has been improved in several ways.
-
If an evaluation form has been set up to include the Comment Assistant, it now displays before the General Comments field.
-
When configuring evaluation forms, you cannot activate a form if it does not have at least one general question or treatment specific question added, or have at least one general comment or the Comment Assistant enabled. If you try to activate a form that does not have at least of these items, you will be prompted to add one.
-
When completing an evaluation form, the Comments (
) icon next to a question now displays in blue if a faculty member or the student provider has added a comment to the question. -
A new Refresh (
) icon now displays at the top of the Faculty Evaluations and Student Evaluations pages. You can click the icon to refresh the listed forms and update their statuses as needed. This ensures the page accurately reflects whether a form has been begun or completed by another user. -
When completing an evaluation form, faculty members can now see form answers that were submitted by a student provider. Student providers can see form answers that were submitted by a faculty member, but only after everyone has submitted the completed evaluation.
Note: Faculty members can only see answers after the user has submitted their copy of the form. If they have only saved the form, you cannot view their answers.
New Assigned Patients widget
From your Overview page (Home > Location > Overview), you can now use the new Assigned Patients widget to view which patients have you as their primary provider. The top of the widget displays the total number of patients and the lower section displays each patient's name and birthdate. Additionally, you can click a patient's name to open their chart or click the refresh icon to update the list.
Note: The Assigned Patients widget does not display if your user account is not set as a provider.

Printed prescriptions display provider's DEA number
All printed prescriptions now display the issuing provider's DEA number regardless whether they are prescribing a controlled substance or a non-controlled substance. This reduces the likelihood of a pharmacy rejecting prescriptions.
Note: If the issuing provider does not have a DEA number, N/A displays on the prescription.
Improvements to the Advanced Patient Search functionality
The Advanced Patient Search functionality has been improved. It now pulls up partial first name matches and partial last name matches and the Birthdate field is no longer a required field. If you decide to enter a birth date, the field becomes an additional search parameter.
Notes:
-
You must enter something in both the First Name and Last Name fields to search, but they do not have to be full or exact names.
-
A maximum of 50 matches can display. If there are more than 50 matches, you should refine your search parameters.
Ability to indicate organization visually
Organizations that are not for production can now be customized with a banner that displays across the top of the page with watermark text. This indicates clearly which organization the user is logged into.
Note: The watermark text is limited to 10 characters.
Banner and watermark text are set through the Support Tool. For more information and to customize the watermark text, contact axiUm Ascend Support.
New Inactivity Timeout option
When configuring a user account (Settings > Location > User Accounts), a new option is now available from the Inactivity Timeout field. You can now select 12 hours from the drop-down list.
Cannot submit completed evaluation forms without questions
Issue: If an evaluation form doesn't have any questions, faculty and students cannot submit the form because they have not answered a question.
Solution: Fixed so that users may submit evaluation forms after they have completed all required questions. If there are no questions on the form, they must enter a general comment or use the Comment Assistant before they can submit the form.
Procedure specific questions don't allow a code range to be one code
Issue: When configuring the Code Range field for procedure specific questions on evaluation forms, users cannot set the to range to be only one code.
Solution: Fixed so that users can set the Code Range field with the same code to indicate the code range is only one code.
Evaluation form names may not display properly
Issue: When users open windows that contains an evaluation form name, such as the Select a form window or the Active the Form window, forms with longer names may not display properly.
Solution: Fixed so that the form name displays as expected, regardless of name length.
