Several new feature enhancements are included in the product update released in early April 2021. The major enhancements in this release include new demerit grading scheme, new field in Power Reporting, and student names on their Progress Summary report.
New demerit grading scheme
We have added a new demerit grading scheme that allows users to grade evaluations on a point system of a 100 points, instead of the traditional pass/fail grading system. To implement this new feature, we have made the following changes throughout axiUm Ascend:
-
We have added a (new) Scheme Type drop-down list to new grading schemes (Settings > Evaluation > Grading Schemes) that allows users to decide whether the new grading scheme is a demerit grading scheme or a pass/fail grading scheme.

If you select the Demerit Grading option, the Grade Description section displays the following table.

You can configure how many points the students will lose per grade in the Demerit Value column.
Note: You cannot configure the Grade and the Description columns.
-
We have added a (new) Grading Scheme Type drop-down list to new sessional evaluation forms (Settings > Evaluation > Grading Schemes). You can use the field to decide whether the new evaluation form will have the demerit grading scheme or a pass/fail grading scheme.

If you select the Demerit Grading option, the Passing Mark ___ / 100 field displays. You can use the field to set the passing grade point for the new evaluation form. Also, we have added a (new) critical question feature to the general questions and the procedure specific questions. Students will automatically fail if they get one critical question wrong. You can set a question as a critical question by selecting the check box in the (new) Critical column in the appropriate sections. Once selected, the associated required check box will be auto-checked and disabled.

Note: The Grading Scheme column now only displays grading schemes from the evaluation form's grading scheme type. If the new evaluation form is set as a pass/fail grading scheme type, the Grading Scheme search field in the column only displays pass/fail grading schemes. If it's set as a demerit grading scheme type, the column only displays demerit grading schemes.
-
On completed sessional evaluations, we have added a (new) Average Points section, below Grade, that displays the average grade point of the submitted evaluations. You can also see the individual grade point of the submitted evaluation(s) in the Results row with the pass/fail mark.

Important: Critical questions are highlighted in red on pending and completed evaluations.
Unlike the Average Points section, the Grade section only displays the fail/pass mark based on the submitted faculty evaluations. The section doesn't include the student's evaluation into the calculation.
New field on Power Reporting
We have added a (new) Fee Schedule field to power reports (Home > Reports > Power Reporting) in the Patient category. Users can use the field, which is under the Patient category, to generate a complete report on all patients with their assigned fee scheduled on their file.

Student names on their Progress Summary report
Progress Summary reports (Academic > Student Progress) in faculty view now include the student's name on the top.

This enhancement also applies to the report's print version.
Signed treatment plan consent forms unable to save due to long document name
Issue: When patients sign consent forms online for their treatment plans that have a long location and case names, an error occurs because the document name goes beyond the character limit. Also, axiUm Ascend is unable to save the document on the document manager due to the error.
Solution: Fixed to not include location name in the document name when the document name goes beyond the limit.
Inconsistent field behavior based on users' security settings
Issue: When student providers without the Change Treatment Plan case status user role permission set create a treatment plan case, they can't interact with the Status drop-down field if they clicktap it. However, they can interact with it by clickingtapping the Status drop-down field's icon and selecting a status from the list.
Solution: Fixed so the field functions as expected.
Incorrect display of faculty providers on completed evaluations
Issue: When users view completed evaluations and they are providers, axiUm Ascend displays the assigned faculty provider(s) as the logged in user. If the logged in user is not a provider, axiUm Ascend displays the assigned faculty provider(s) as Faculty 1, Faculty 2, and so forth.
Solution: Fixed so it displays the assigned faculty providers' names properly.
Unable to acquire images on a patient's chart
Issue: When users attempt to acquire images from a patient's chart, and the logged in user and the patient's primary provider works at different locations, the Imaging Procedures section doesn't load properly.
Solution: Fixed so the page displays and functions as expected.
Error when attempting to view a treatment plan case's history
Issue: When users attempt to view a treatment plan case's history of a specific patient, it may not display due to an error.
Solution: Fixed so the patient's treatment plan history displays as expected.
