New feature enhancements are included in the product update released in May 2018. The major enhancements in this release include new imaging functionality, a Fee Schedule override at the patient-level, and updates to the ADA Procedure Codes.
Improved imaging functionality
A variety of imaging functionality improvements have been introduced.
Image Viewing:

Lower resolution images now open at their regular size instead of being enlarged to fill the viewing area.

From the Patient menu > Clinical menu > Imaging tab, you can now zoom out of images. This enhances the quality of images taken by older devices (sensors and intraoral cameras) with lower image resolutions.

Imported files now shows the date of the file or image on the thumbnail when it is dragged and dropped onto a template to differentiate better images of the same anatomy while doing the import operation.

From the Patient menu > Clinical menu > Imaging tab, you can now preview images by placing the entire template in the larger viewing area so you can see the relationship among the individual images. The upper-right corner has a new button to make the view switch. This allows you to pan and zoom within the viewing area.
Note: This update supports integration with the Sopro SOPIX Sensor and Sopro PSPIX Scanner for OSX.

Tooth numbers are now included in PDF printouts.

From the Patient menu > Clinical menu > Imaging tab, you can now drag and drop to rearrange images in an exam. This allows you to fix images taken in wrong locations when they were originally acquired. You can also retake any image in the exam while acquiring images.

Viewing large templates has been improved. From the Patient menu > Clinical menu > Imaging tab, you can now turn on or off Template view via a new icon located by the full-screen icon. The Finish button has been removed.
Procedure or Task Improvements:

When an exam is incomplete (i.e., does not have all images taken in the template) and you are ready to go back and finish the exam an Acquisition Options window opens when you click Resume Exam and prompts you to select the order of how the software will step through the available locations during acquisition of the new images.

If the predefined teeth are not correct for mounts or templates with multiple images, you can now be change the tooth number from the Patient menu > Clinical menu > Imaging tab. This is useful if the teeth for old exams should have been taken with primary teeth.

You can now select Schick 33 filters during acquisition.

Keyboard input focused to the intraoral camera acquisition module is set when entering the intraoral camera capture module and allows Ascend Imaging to received keystrokes from the camera button. Shortcut keys now capture and save images/videos for intraoral cameras:

The S key pauses and the next S key saves the image.

The X key resumes video.

If the acquisition agent is not running, when you click the Imaging drop-down menu and select Acquire Images, you now see an error message and are redirected to the main Imaging tab.
Updates to Supported Machines and Integrations:

Planmeca Panoramic machines that use the AutoFocus feature are now supported.

Returning JPEG format images from acquisition agent is better supported and improves digital camera import speed by 8-10x.

Integration support is now available for Dexis imaging software versions 9 and 10.
Added a Fee Schedule override
From the Patient Information page > Basic Info tab, you can now add a fee schedule at the patient level from the new Fee Schedule field. If set, the patient-level fee schedule overrides all other fee schedules (Provider, Insurance, or Location Fee Schedules) to calculate:

Treatment amounts on procedures.

What the patient owes.
-
What insurance will cover.
Note: You cannot set a patient up with both a Discount Plan and a patient-level Fee Schedule. If attempted, a Validation Error window displays.

The available ADA Procedure Codes have been updated to maintain accuracy.
