New feature enhancements and bug fixes are included in the product update released in February 2018. The major enhancements in this release include new functionality when you edit or move procedures and clinical notes, improvements when viewing appointments from the Calendar, and new information being added to the Patient Information ribbon.
Edited clinical notes prompt to save changes
When providers edit clinical notes in the Clinical Note window, and click the close (x) icon or Cancel, they are now prompted to save their changes before closing the window.
Note: If changes are made, but the Password field is blank or the answer is invalid, the Save button on the prompt is disabled.
Calendar View settings include an Uncheck button
The Calendar screen > View drop-down list now includes an Uncheck button. When users must change the filter settings, they can click the button to clear all selected Provider or Operatory check boxes.

Procedures can be edited after approval
Users that do not require approval now have the option to edit procedures after approval.
Note: Approved procedures cannot be edited by users that require approval.
Patient chart # displays on the Patient Information ribbon
A patient's chart # now displays in the Patient Information ribbon along the top bar in axiUm Ascend.
Note: If the patient doesn't have a chart # set up, None displays instead.

New fields on the User Roles screen
From the Settings > User Roles screen > Patient Procedures, four new fields are now available to help you better manage who can edit completed or planned treatments:
-
Edit completed procedures
-
Delete completed procedures
-
Edit uncompleted procedures
-
Delete uncompleted procedures
You can select or deselect the fields as required to set each role's permissions.
Notes:
-
Users that require approval to post procedures, cannot edit completed procedures even if they have permissions to edit completed procedures.
-
Users without permissions to edit uncompleted procedures, still see enabled fields for existing and unapproved Tx Plan procedures. If they edit the procedure fields and save the changes, an error message appears: Access Denied: Contact your office administrator. For approved Tx Plan procedures, the fields are disabled.
New behavior for appointments with no procedures
When users modify their Tx Plans and move or delete procedures from appointments with only one case (and procedure) to another case, the empty appointment is no longer deleted.
It now displays the text <NeedsProcedure> in the Other field.

Care Payment renamed to CareCredit Payment
When categorizing payments or attaching them to a patient's ledger to reconcile the accounts, the additional payment category called Care Payment has now been renamed to CareCredit Payment.

Search for patients using date of birth
When users conduct searches from the Patient Search bar, they can now use the date of birth formatted as mm/dd/yyyy to locate patients.
Note: Search entries that use another date format do not return results.
Condition notes don't save consistently
Issue: When users open the Progress Notes, view the conditions list, and add a note to a condition, it sometimes does not save correctly.
Solution: Fixed so that the notes added to a condition display correctly.
