New Patient Exposure Report
Ascend Academic now offers a Patient Exposure Report that allows users to track the number of radiation exposures (x-ray images) taken during imaging exams.
The report allows users to generate a list of patients that have been exposed to radiation via radiographic imaging exams, along with the providers who acquired the images, the exam dates and codes, the total number of exposures taken per exam, and the number of retakes done per exam.
Example: For a two-bite wing imaging, if a user takes three images on the left side and two images on the right side, a total of five exposures is counted for the exam, three of which are considered retakes.
Important:
-
Deleted images do not reduce the total exposure count. However, if deleted, the ADA Code and Description entries are removed from the report.
-
Imported images increase the exposure count.
When the report is accessed (Home > Reports > Patient Exposure Report), the (new) Patient Exposure Report displays. From here, users can set filters to select a Date Range, Patient, Users, and determine whether to Group By users or patients.
Note: The Date Range filter includes exams/radiographic images based on the date they were taken rather than the date the procedure code was added to the chart.

Bug Fixes
Procedure code may change when evaluation is triggered
Issue: When providers require an evaluation for a CL2 PT.EXP procedure on a tx plan, the procedure code may drop the .EXP alias when the evaluation is triggered and the completed evaluation does not count towards student progress.
Solution: Fixed so that the procedure alias displays as expected when an evaluation is triggered.
Login to remote evaluation location may generate Access Denied message
Issue: Students and faculty with evaluation security rights may see an “Access Denied: Please contact your Administrator” message when logging into a remote evaluation location.
Solution: Fixed so that the message does not display for students and faculty with evaluation security rights.
