Requesting override approval for images

When retaking images in an exam, you may reach the radiation exposure limit set by your institution. If you reach the limit and still require additional retakes, you must request and receive override approval from a supervising faculty member to proceed.

To request override approval

1. Retake images on a patient's record as necessary.

2. When prompted with the Request Retake Limit Override Approval window, enter the supervising faculty member in the Attending Provider field and clicktap Request Approval.

   

   The selected faculty member is notified and can determine whether they want to give override approval. If they give approval, they must enter their name and password in the Approver and Password fields and clicktap Approve Override to allow you to proceed.

3. If given override approval, continue retaking images as necessary.

   Note: The workflow after receiving override approval may vary depending on the type of exam.

   Examples:

   • If recapturing a single image exam or multiple image exam, the approval window displays when the limit is reached. After receiving limit override approval, you must clicktap Recapture to recapture images.

   • If recapturing a single image exam and recapture limit has already been reached, the approval window displays. After receiving limit override approval, you must cancel the recapture and start a new recapture.

   • If recapturing a single image exam while in auto-repeat (endo mode), the approval window displays when the limit of repeating images is reached. After receiving limit override approval, you must finish the current acquisition and select the exam to recapture.
