Manually submitting existing images for caries detection

If needed, you can manually submit a bitewing for analysis if that image was acquired before Ascend Detect AI was activated.

To manually submit a bitewing for caries detection

1. On the patient's record > Chart tab, complete one of the following:

   • View an image from the patient's image history list.

     1. ClickTap the Imaging tab's menu and select Show Image History.

        

     2. On the Images tab, select an exam for an individual bitewing or a series of bitewings.

        

     3. If you have selected a series, under Image Navigator, clicktap an image of that series.

        

   • View one of the patient's most recent images.

     1. ClickTap the Imaging tab's menu and select Show Most Recent Images.

        

     2. ClickTap an individual bitewing image or an image in a series of bitewings.

        

   The selected image displays in the viewing area.

   

2. ClickTap the Tools tab.

   

3. Select the AI tool.

   

4. If the bitewing does not have caries analysis results, clicktap Submit for analysis.

   The number of areas of concern that were detected displays on the left, and boxes display on the image where those areas were detected.

   

   Notes:

   • To switch between showing and hiding the caries indicator boxes, clicktap the Select object(s) to Display icon to display the Select Object(s) to Display window, select or clear the AI Analysis checkbox, and clicktap Confirm.

     

   • To switch between showing and hiding all annotations, measurements, and caries indicator boxes for the image, clicktap the Show/hide annotations and measurements icon. The icon is available only if an annotation, a measurement, or caries analysis has been applied to the image.
