You can set a non-provider, such as a dental assistant or hygienist, as a proxy user to allow them to enter electronic prescriptions on behalf of a doctor. The proxy user can enter prescriptions for both controlled and non-controlled substances. Once entered, the doctor whom the prescription was entered on behalf of must review, approve, and submit it.
Note: You can also set a doctor, a provider, as a proxy user. Once set, they can enter a prescription on behalf of another provider.
Important: Once set, DoseSpot, the 3rd-party provider of the ePrescribe service, must approve the user's account. The approval may take up to 24 hours. Until approved, the user will not have access to ePrescribe, and will not be able to enter prescriptions. Once approved, the proxy user can start entering prescriptions on behalf of a doctor.
