The Ledger Report displays the procedures, claims, payments, and adjustments for a patient or account for a specific date or date range.
Tip: The report also includes ADA procedure codes in case the patient's health plan requires that information. This is useful if your institution often gets requests from patients at the beginning of a new year asking for the procedures completed and payments made during the previous year.
To generate the Ledger Report
How to get there

If the correct patient is not already selected, use the Patient Search field to access the patient's record.
Note: You can include inactive patients in the search results by setting the Include inactive patients toggle to On.

While viewing a patient's record, on the Patient menu, under Financial, clicktap Ledger Report.
The Ledger Report window displays.

Set the filters as necessary:

Date Range - Select a radio button to determine which ledger entries with service dates (transaction dates) to include in the report.

Today - Includes ledger entries on the current date.

Year to Date - Includes ledger entries since the beginning of the current calendar year.

Last Year - Includes ledger entries within the previous calendar year.

Specific Date - Includes ledger entries on a specific date. If selected, the current date is entered by default, but you can change the date as necessary.

From / to - Includes ledger entries within a specific date range. If selected, the current date is entered for the range by default, but you can change the starting and ending dates as necessary.
Notes:

The report only includes the current version of transactions. The report does not include transaction history or cancellations.

On the report, a balance forward amount displays for the patient or account's balance up to the specified date.

Report Type - Select a radio button to determine the report type:

Guarantor - Includes ledger entries for the current patient, all patients with the same guarantor as the current patient, and the guarantor (if not the current patient).

Patient Only - Includes ledger entries for only the current patient.
Note: This option is not enabled if the patient is guarantor for only themselves.

Include Payments/Adjustments - Select the check box to include procedures, claims, payments, and adjustments. If deselected, only procedures will be included in the report.
Note: This check box is selected by default.

ClickTap Print.
A .pdf file of the report displays in a new browser tab for you to download or print.
Important: A patient connection for the report is not added to the patient or guarantor record.
