When necessary, you can assign a sliding fee schedule to a patient. This allows Ascend Academic to discount prices for products, services, or taxes according to a patient's ability to pay. If a discount plan is configured, any discounts are applied on a per-procedure basis.
Important:
-
To determine how much the patient pays per procedure, you need to know the size and annual income of the patient's family.
-
Only uninsured patients can use sliding discount plans.
Once set, you can see discounts in the patient's ledger and treatment plans as well as in the Treatment Plan preview. When you post a procedure in the Ledger, a discount adjustment displays automatically. Additionally, discounts are included in Production Totals calculations (Calendar).
