Activating and inactivating automatic insurance estimate overrides

You can set up Ascend Academic to automatically calculate or not calculate the primary and secondary insurance portions of a completed procedure's charge and insert those amounts as the procedure's Insurance Estimate Overrides. Additionally, only users who have the Unlock Insurance Overrides security right enabled can modify the insurance estimate overrides that are associated with that procedure.

To activate or inactivate automatic insurance estimate overrides

1. On the Ledger Options page, clicktap the Ledger Rules tab.

   

2. Under Insurance Estimates & Write-Offs, set the Prepopulate & lock insurance estimate overrides toggle to one of the following:

   • Yes - When set and a completed procedure is posted, Ascend Academic automatically calculates the primary and secondary insurance portions of a completed procedure's charge and enters those amounts as the procedure's Insurance Estimate Overrides. Also, the insurance estimates will be locked to prevent modification except by authorized users.

   • No - When set, anyone can enter and/or modify a procedure's Insurance Estimate Overrides.

3. ClickTap Save.
