For each location, you can specify an image retakes limit for users that perform radiographic imaging exams. This allows you to limit the amount of radiation exposure a patient is subjected to during an appointment.
Note: To enforce this limit, the user must have a role with the Limit Radiation Imaging security right enabled.
If a provider with the security right set reaches the limit, they must request and receive override approval from a supervising faculty member to proceed.
Notes:
-
The radiation limit applies only to imaging exams that emit radiation. It does not apply to intraoral camera imaging.
-
Some imaging exams may require several images to be considered complete. Images are not considered retakes unless they capture the same area.
Example: A 4 bite wings exam requires one image per quarter for a total of four images. It is considered a retake if a user captures two images of the same quarter.
