You can attach a patient's perio exam and images from their document manager to a claim that has not been submitted (does not have a status of Queued, Sent, or Accepted) or was rejected (has a status of ADDINF, NEARERROR, or so forth).
Notes:
-
You can only attach .jpg/.jpeg image file(s) and one perio exam to a claim.
-
You can attach maximum of 10 items to a claim.
-
For information about adding attachments to rejected claims, see resubmitting rejected claims.
Important: Henry Schein Practice Solutions maintains a database of supported payers. You can add attachments to claims only for insurance plans that are associated with supported carriers. If a payer does not accept electronic attachments, the attachments will not be included when you send a claim with attachments to that payer and the claim will have a status message that states that the attachments were rejected. If this case, you can mail the attachments to the payer separately from the claim. Alternatively, for payers that don't accept electronic attachments, you can print and mail the claim and attachments together.
