Ascend Academic has a feature designed to help treatment or insurance coordinators. You can mark procedures on specific insurance plans as requiring predetermination. Once set, the system will automatically prompt team members to create a predetermination claim when there's a marked procedure on a treatment plan case. Sending predetermination claims can help you avoid financial surprises when working with an insurance carrier.

Additional Information
-
When you set up predeterminations for an insurance plan, the configuration applies to all locations within the organization.
-
Loading the default configuration or import configuration from a different plan, it replaces any work you've done on the Manage Predeterminations window. It's recommended you load/import first and then make additional adjustments.
-
The Replace with feature lets you copy an existing selection from any plan across all carriers, while the Distribute feature lets you copy a configuration from one plan and then paste it to other plan(s) within the same carrier.
-
The financial threshold set by the Require predetermination for procedure over check box can be used with predetermination selections. When used together, the threshold only applies to procedures that aren't set as requiring predetermination.
-
The warning message on top of the Treatment Planner page goes away when all required predeterminations have been submitted.
